At The Boston Conservatory, we value our large and diverse international student body, which includes students from 30 different countries. We understand the rewards and the challenges of living and studying in the United States, and are committed to providing our international students with information, advising, and programs to help them achieve their educational goals.
The Office of International Student Affairs offers many resources to support international students and enrich their Conservatory experience:
- We advise international students on all F-1 immigration policies and procedures, including I-20s, visas, academic requirements, employment regulations, travel, and related matters.
- We offer workshops and educational programs throughout the year for international students, covering important immigration and practical topics. Topics typically include F-1 regulations, taxes, employment options, work visas, and others.
- We provide English as a second language (ESL) support at the Conservatory, with classes and tutoring at the intermediate and advanced levels during the academic year. We also offer an intensive ESL program for new students in August.
- We provide cross-cultural advising and multicultural programs for international students and for the Conservatory community, including the annual Worldfest celebration of international music, dance, and cuisine. These programs are both educational and entertaining. International students are encouraged to become involved in planning these programs through participation in the Conservatory’s International Student Club and Taiwan Student Association, which are open to all students.
