Course numbers beginning with X are undergraduate level courses taken to address deficiencies in previous preparation by matriculated graduated students.
100, 200, 300, and 400 level courses are undergraduate courses. Generally, 100 level courses are for freshmen or indicate introductory level subject matter and 400 level courses are for seniors only or advanced undergraduates. 500 and 600 level courses are graduate level courses; some may be offered concurrently with an undergraduate course covering the same content. Students with senior standing may, on the recommendation of the instructor and permission of a Division Director, enroll in graduate level courses for undergraduate credit. Courses completed for credit in this manner may not be used by that student toward a graduate degree or diploma program at the Conservatory without the explicit approval of the Dean of the Conservatory.
